Frequently Asked Questions

Social Accounts

I'm trying to set up my social media accounts, but I don't see where to do it.
If you have a paid account (any 'Lazy' account type), you do not need to create accounts on the social media sites. Your bookmarks will be shared by other members.
Why aren't my social account passwords masked (******)?
Great question!

During the beta testing phase we asked the testers what they would prefer and it was unanimous in favor of leaving the passwords visible.

Reasons why?
  • SocialAdr could be used as a sort of "username/password storage" for social bookmarking services
  • It's easier to modify a password if you can see what it is
  • It's not like these are bank accounts, you can always create a new account if yours gets "compromised"
Not to worry though, nobody else can see your passwords except for you!
How many social accounts should I sign up for?
As many as you'd like! But generally speaking...the more, the merrier.

In order to add your own bookmarks and have them shared by other members, you must have "credits", which are earned every time you share a bookmark to each service. As you might expect, you also lose credits every time one of your own bookmarks is submitted to each social media site.

So the more services you have setup, the more "credits" you'll receive, and the more shares your own bookmarks will receive.
